SUMMARY, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Dean of Academic & Student Affairs acts as the Chief Academic Officer and is also responsible for student life and Institutional Research and Effectiveness. They work to develop administrative, personnel and academic policies and programs for the college. This role develops and oversees the curriculum, development of the class schedules and student orientation to the college; supervises the library and all faculty personnel, faculty evaluations, all academic programs, academic standards and academic records. They are responsible for oversite of campus life , which includes students, faculty, and administrators, who are responsible for specific services to college students, and coordinating tutorial services and testing. They are responsible for the proper administration of policies on student life, health, housing, discipline, scholarship, and other forms of student assistance, and all matters related to student non-academic activities.
This position is also responsible for Enrollment Management, which includes the Registrar's office, Student Recruitment, and Financial Aid. This position also entails other responsibilities and other duties assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: A doctorate degree in Higher Education or a related discipline is preferred. Previous experience as a Department Chair or a senior leader role in Higher Education that includes working with academic programming is also preferred. Teaching, administrative experience, and higher Education experience with curriculum, pedagogy is required. Must be an experienced leader of classroom management and student discipline matters.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Experienced instructional leadership with ability to develop reading, writing and math initiatives. Strong communication and facilitation skills, including technology.
REASONING ABILITY:Team player and experience with collaboration and ability to work under pressure and adapt easily. Strong leadership skills to manage a large staff, including senior leadership positions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment on a college campus. Some travel is required. Flexible/Adaptable to constant change.
