Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $31.00 - $34.00/hr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $25.77 - $43.58/hr.

Brief Summary of Job Duties:
The DSP Remote Participation Administrator & Academic Affairs Engagement independently manages the remote participation accommodation (faculty, RPA students, supervising AA student-staff, exams); is responsible for Remote Participation Accommodation (RPA) outreach to faculty, supervising and coordinating the access ambassador program, assisting with remote exam coordination, and liaising with faculty to explore remote participation options based on the structure of their courses. This position also supports other regulatory entities that offer similar support to students under Title IX-DHP, CARE, Anti-Discrimination Policy, BIAS, or special populations identified by VCSA, UGED, & UCOP. This position provides remote participation support for all courses, sections, and university-related functions that would grant equal access to a student approved for this accommodation. The Remote Participation Administrator & Academic Affairs Engagement works closely with students, faculty, and campus departments to ensure remote functionality prior to the start of classes and then assists students and faculty with troubleshooting as necessary. This position works closely with the Support Services Coordinator and DSP Director, ensuring timely communication campaigns. The RPA Administrator is responsible for monitoring remote participation on a daily basis, inclusive of accommodated students and access ambassadors. Remote Participation Administrator operations include: serving as the key point of contact for the accommodation, including outreach to faculty and students; maintaining a viable workforce of access ambassadors to support the needs of faculty and students; following procedural guidelines for escalating concerns to the appropriate person for resolution including SSC, DSP Director, DSP Specialists, etc; services as the single point of contact on all faculty matters to better support faculty and students. This position requires extensive knowledge of ADA. Ability to make critical decisions logically and quickly, as well as maintain a high level of confidentiality. This position is also responsible for meticulous record-keeping of services provided, including attendance of students and student-staff to support and assist the departments & broader campus through audits, grievances, and compliance-adjacent investigations. This position serves to mitigate risk to the campus at large as a primary and secondary strategic collaborator, including by providing information and supporting documentation as deemed necessary to assist Campus Counsel, Office of Student Conduct, SOC, SBIT operations, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
4-6 years Experience working in a Disability Office in a higher education setting, administering complex accommodations such as interpreting or CART, remote participation, etc.
4-6 years Experience working with database management systems, tracking inventory, asset management
4-6 years Experience working with students with disabilities, triaging student concerns, and able to problem solve
Preferred Qualifications:
Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses a broad knowledge base; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
Thorough knowledge in administrative procedures and processes including spreadsheets, campaigns, and database applications.
Thorough knowledge of ADA, technological resources, and precise organizational skills.
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with campus partners, including but not limited to faculty and staff.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
50% Remote Participation Accommodation Administration
- Responsible for coordinating Remote Participation for multiple campus entities operating under several regulatory and legal frameworks. In addition to students approved for the accommodation under ADA, the RPA Administrator also supports other compliance and academic units, including Title IX-DHP, CARE, Anti-Discrimination Policy, BIAS, or special populations identified by VCSA, UGED, & UCOP.
- This position provides remote participation support for all courses, sections, and university-related functions that would grant equal access to a student approved for this accommodation.
- Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and deploying approximately 100 Access Ambassadors (AA's) to stream classes for students approved to attend classes and discussion sections remotely.
- Independently coordinates the schedule of classes requiring Access Ambassadors, based on student approval for RPA. Oversees and manages the checkout and return of equipment (laptops, webcams) for Access Ambassadors as needed; maintaining accountability and ensuring all resources are properly allocated and tracked.
- Handles special test-taking arrangements as applied to remote exams, schedules access ambassadors and confirms all assignments. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise (i.e. faculty concerns, incomplete requests, student error in schedule, access ambassador error, and/or cancellations).
- Consults with departments, and confers with DSP Specialist and Staff to arrange remote participation and remote proctoring of exams. Ensures that students with disabilities receive accommodations as specified in their letter of accommodation, including but not limited to complex requirements such as stop the clock, Memory aid, etc.
- Oversee and monitor remote participation on a daily basis, ensuring smooth operations for both accommodated students and Access Ambassadors. This role is critical to maintaining seamless access and support for students requiring accommodations, while also ensuring that Access Ambassadors are properly scheduled and equipped to assist with remote test-taking and other academic needs.

45% Academic Affairs Engagement & Outreach
- Communicates with faculty and staff to ensure academic partners are informed of accommodation requests. Triage general inquiries, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate channels. Monitors DSPAccess email inbox to streamline communication with faculty and department staff, serving as a primary point of contact for inquiries and concerns related to Remote Participation and other academic accommodations coordinated by DSP.
- Attends Academic Affairs functions, and events to promote awareness of DSP, academic accommodations, and resources. Engages in outreach and collaborates with campus partners to support communication strategies. Provides campaign recommendations and contributes to the planning and execution of academic affairs-related events including Open House, Town Hall, and End of Year Appreciation event, which highlights faculty committed to accessibility.
- Assesses accommodation-related issues for appropriate referrals. Consults and briefs the Support Services Coordinator and DSP Director on an as needed basis.
5% Supplemental Orientations & Operations
- Under the general supervision of the Assistant to the Director, engages with the broader population of newly registered DSP students by providing supplemental orientations throughout the quarter to increase familiarity with the DSP portal, clarify processes related to activating & requesting accommodations, and increase skills associated with accommodation usage. Assists students, on an as-needed basis, with assistive tech including equipment loans, licenses, and training. Supports interpreting coordination on an as-needed basis including operational and audit support.
