Assistant Dean, Academic Programs and Student Experience – Rice Business – Houston, TX

Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Degree Programs, the Assistant Dean, Academic Programs and Student Experience will have the unique opportunity to shape and elevate the academic and co-curricular experience of the diverse student body and play a crucial role in the experiential quality of six MBA programs, the undergraduate business major and minor, as well as specialized master programs.

The successful Assistant Dean, Academic Programs and Student Experience candidate will:

Develop and execute a vision for academic programs and student experience that aligns with the strategic priorities of Rice Business. Ensure continuous improvement through regular assessments and feedback loops
Lead and inspire a high-performing team of 20 staff members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Oversee hiring, performance evaluations, and professional development
Design and refine processes to support the school's growth, ensuring efficiency and alignment across programs. Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively
Build strong collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, alumni, and students. Serve as a liaison to ensure consistency in policies and procedures across academic programs

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Dean of Academic Programs and Student Experience should possess a Master's Degree, although equivalent professional experience may be considered. They should have at least 10 years of leadership experience in corporate or higher education settings, with a preference for a focus on student service, program management, hospitality, or related fields. Additionally, the candidate must have extensive experience in leading and optimizing high-performing teams of managers and/or directors and the ability to present confidently while building collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and students. This position is a full-time, in-person Monday-to-Friday role, with frequent evening and/or weekend commitments.
